University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) is dedicated to soliciting the private funding necessary to support the strategic goals of the University in teaching, learning, and research. The personnel of UDAR work university-wide as well as within individual schools and colleges of the University to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, faculty, and friends for immediate, long-range, and future financial support, through gifts and pledges to the University, for critical operations such as student aid, faculty support, academic and research program development, and facilities and infrastructure. UDAR's endeavors raise funds for immediate University use and also for the University's endowment.   As the Tandon School’s lead fundraiser, the associate dean of development will serve as the strategic leader for the Tandon School’s development efforts, working in close partnership with the dean. The Tandon School currently raises around $20 million annually and has ambitions to incrementally increase fundraising outcomes in the coming years. Reporting to the vice president of schools and institutes (VP) in NYU’s University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) office, this person will work closely with both the VP and the dean of the Tandon School in order to establish goals, objectives, and strategies for the advancement and alumni relations programs that support Tandon and overall university priorities.   UDAR encourages work-life integration for our employees, therefore this position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success, this pivotal leadership position will provide subject-matter expertise and be the chief university lead on analysis, benchmarking and ongoing efforts regarding student satisfaction, retention and graduation. The Vice President for Student Success, Research and Experience leads institutional efforts that manage the student information system, student records, university data, retention and graduation specialists and scholars programs. This position is key in understanding the student journey and helping to focus the community on high impact strategies as well as a coordinated system of efforts that support students as they work toward their degree. This position requires both leadership and interpersonal skills to guide the University and develop key partnerships that ensure we meet retention, graduation and satisfaction goals. Working closely with the Vice President for University Life and Global Engagement and the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, this position coordinates data and information, provides guidance and implements strategies focused on both student satisfaction and graduation. The incumbent will have a broad understanding of academic and student support practices, research, programming and administrative functions as well as an the best practices regarding the coordination of data, technology, process and people to help lead and guide campus wide student success initiatives. The incumbent must have experience and a portfolio that exemplifies engaging with students, using data to inform decisions and technology to enhance strategic planning to achieve objectives. The incumbent must support the values of diversity, equity and inclusion as well as an understanding the importance of an asset based and inclusive approach to the analysis and work to be done. They must have an analytical understanding of the factors impacting student retention, satisfaction and graduation rates and the ability to use that analysis to inform and create practical programming and process improvements that are essential to success in this role. A demonstrated ability to work in a diverse environment, strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences including students and their families, faculty, advisors and other administrators are essential. An essential part of this position is to understand how the tools we have – technology, data and people – can be best utilized to connect efforts across a large, complex university to ensure we simplify processes and communicate effectively to clearly inform students about what they need to do to feel connected to our community and earn their degree.

This role will create, lead, and direct a comprehensive content and multi-platform communications strategy and direct marketing plan that enhances the reputation of UDAR and NYU. Other efforts include:   - Leading UDAR’s communications efforts with high end donors, the President’s office and the Board of Trustees - Strategically develop and direct a broad content strategy focused on traditional and digital channels (web site, mobile, online communities, video blogs) determining both the level and type of content - Direct a team to create engagement with alumni, parents, donors, prospects and friends on all social media accounts and serve as content strategist for social media accounts around UDAR - Lead all fundraising communications initiatives, including the development and execution of principal and major gift proposal strategies and materials - Chart a course to develop better “client” relationship management with donors, parents, and alumni all along the Continuum of Engagement by mapping the lifecycle of our “customer” from prospect to applicant to student to alumnus/donor in order to capture relevant information/relationships - Serve as a senior level interface with NYU's senior department heads and directors on communications initiatives to ensure needs are met in a way that accrues to the UDAR brand - Direct and expand UDAR’s reputation by reshaping the way we capture, translate, and promote alumni and donor information - Serve as key point person in the new brand positioning roll out to ensure all programs embed messages consistently and better leverage multimedia to bring our brand to life - Develop and implement proactive, strategic media plans to increase program and donor visibility, including conceiving story ideas, pitching ideas to appropriate press members   UDAR encourages work-life integration for our employees, therefore this position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.

Ensure maintenance and fuel records for fleets are accurate and up to date. The position will be expected to be mannerly and courteous in all driving and non-driving situations while on the job.
