The College of Arts and Science is seeking a dedicated Assistant Director to join Preprofessional Advising. This individual will oversee prelaw support services for the Preprofessional Advising Center, including prelaw programming and one-on-one advisement for prelaw students; assist with the Preprofessional Advising Center’s broader support for NYU’s preprofessional student population; provide general academic advisement to cohort of new College of Arts and Science students each academic year. Provide general and academic advising and related services for preprofessional students and alumni of the university. Collaborate with department staff to develop office policies and procedures.
Under the direction of the Manager of HVAC, oversee and direct the preventative maintenance operational needs of the HVAC Shop. Direct and manage HVAC Mechanics and related trades, contractors, and clerical staff; arrange HVAC operations relating to special events. Consult with school personnel and facilities/building managers to establish priorities and level of service within budget constraints. Ensure work performed by the HVAC Shop adheres to NYC building codes and University policies (e.g., schedules, noise control, cleanliness of site, etc.) Participate in architectural and engineering planning for new projects as required. Manage HVAC Shop in absence of Manager.
The Center on International Cooperation (CIC) has a portfolio of 25+ grants (~$10M) from international government agencies, foreign foundations, and domestic foundations. The Grants Manager will support all grant management functions as part of a two-person Grants Manager team. The Grants Manager will oversee pre-award, post award, and award closeout administration for all grants associated with the Center. Act as a key advisor on all grant management tasks and support program leads on reporting needs. Coordinate all CIC grant reporting, including consolidating program documents, budget documents, and institutional approvals. Work closely with NYU’s OSP (Office of Sponsored Programs) to ensure proposals are processed and signed in a timely manner. Ensure that grant reporting is completed in a timely manner, including the coordination of internal deadlines for program and financial reports. Collaborate with program leads to ensure grant deliverables are completed with a timeline satisfactory to funder grant agreement. The Grants Manager is also the point of contact between CIC and SPA (Sponsored Programs Administration) in order to ensure that grant reporting tasks are approved within NYU’s internal systems. This position is also the point of contact between CIC and administrative officials at funder organizations, with support from the Director of Finance and Operations.
SHIFT: Thursday - Monday 7:00AM - 3:00PM
As a key member of our NYU-POLY team, Maintenance Mechanics are responsible for keeping our properties in top-notch physical condition, inside and out. A typical day could include plumbing, electrical, fire alarm system maintenance, basic drywall; touch up painting, and appliance repairs, maintaining refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning equipment; boilers, and ventilating and hot water heaters;, pumps, valves, piping and filters; other mechanical and electrical equipment; cooling tower maintenance plus preventive maintenance and repairs. Addressing any maintenance issues and reporting to the Chief Engineer and Director of Facilities regarding issues when necessary.
SHIFT: Monday and Tuesday 3:00PM - 11:00PM, Friday and Saturday 11:00PM - 7:00AM, Sunday 3:00PM - 11:00PM
Operate, maintain and perform minor repairs to combined heat and power systems and equipment to perform safely and efficiently; monitor and respond to changes in operating conditions to maintain continuous plant performance; perform preventive maintenance duties and routines.
SHIFT: Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 4:00PM
Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair combined heat and power and chilled water systems and connected equipment to perform safely and efficiently; perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance duties and routines. Perform routine and emergency maintenance on high temperature hot water, chilled water and electrical distribution piping, valves and controls throughout the NYU portfolio of properties. Perform housekeeping, painting, labeling etc on plant equipment and systems. Complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently utilizing good work practice as part of a maintenance team or working independently with minimal supervision. Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnosis on plant equipment, systems and controls. Correct and repair advanced mechanical, electrical and instrumentation faults on plant equipment. Understand how to troubleshoot equipment faults/failures and identify root causes of plant issues. Recommend a repair/recovery strategy to return plant to normal operating condition. Must be able to communicate effectively on e-mail, radio and via phone. Repair and maintain machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operating manuals, manufacturers' specifications or supervisor s instructions, using hand and power tools, precision measuring or testing devices. Observe, calibrate, troubleshoot and adjust a wide variety of control valves, transmitters, PLC's and various instrumentation and control devices to assure proper operation and repair. Assist in the scoping, planning and schedule of shutdowns and repairs.Order supplies and replacement parts used in the plant as required and directed. Respond to emergencies and determines corrective actions using available resources.
Performs supervisory, advanced technical and administrative supervision for Cogeneration Plant Maintenance & Operations shops. Provides support as directed to the Sr, Manager & Maintenance Manager. Directs and schedules the preventative maintenance and repair of Plant equipment. Assists Plant Management in the design, planning, installation, and commissioning of planned Plant Expansion.
Report to the Director, Energy Engineering. Responsible for advancing energy management efforts on campus and for the implementation of initiatives as related to building automation and metering systems. Working closely with the facility management, technical services and construction management groups, identify, evaluate and support the deployment of cost-effective energy management initiatives to drive environmental improvement, energy reduction and operational excellence across the NYU portfolio of properties. Evaluate the operational condition of a variety of Building Management Systems (BMS) throughout the NYU campuses by setting up and analyzing data trends for analysis and diagnostics. Recommend modifications of sequence of operations for building systems to optimize performance and efficiency. Coordinate, track and manage the optimization and repairs of the systems controlled by the BMS. Assist with identifying and managing the repair and replacement of malfunctioning building management system components on campus.
The NYU College of Nursing is one of the leading nursing programs in the country. The College enrolls over1500 students in both baccalaureate and graduate programs. The college employs 68 full time faculty, approximately 150 part time faculty, 47 administrators, 52 research/training staff, and 20 administrative support staff. The Director of Human Resources will direct the delivery of human resource services to all employees of the College of Nursing.. Responsibilities of the position include employee relations, recruitment, compensation, performance management and staff development. The Director is responsible for interpreting and communicating federal and state employment laws, university HR policies and collective bargaining agreements. As a member of the senior management team, this position participates in strategic planning initiatives with college leadership.
Involved in administrative and general assistance type office work for one or several professors, as their primary responsibility. Incumbents provide comprehensive support to centers, institutes, committees, programs and/or conferences. Handle complex budget work. Perform a wide range of clerical, secretarial and general office duties including those of a confidential nature. Prioritize office activities and delegate work to student and/or casual employees. Respond to inquiries displaying a comprehensive knowledge of the departmental offerings and policies. Interact with the general public and act as NYU contact/liaison. Interact with University personnel including those at the senior level regarding specific issues and problems. Customize and/or compose letters in response to requests for information. Perform general word processing duties utilizing intermediate to advanced-level functions. Modify and/or create databases and complex spreadsheets. Monitor complex department budgets and/or grants.
