Arts and Science is seeking a talented Administrative Aide II (full-time, 9 month role) to join Silsila: Center for Material Histories. This individual will perform a wide range of clerical, secretarial and general office duties including those of a confidential nature. Respond to inquiries displaying a comprehensive knowledge of the Center's activities, policies and programs. Interact with scholarly communities and the general public as NYU liaison and with University personnel including those at the senior level to resolve issues and problems. Arrange travel and transport for visiting scholars and speakers. Perform general word processing duties utilizing intermediate to advanced-level functions. Modify and/or create databases and complex spreadsheets. Maintain website and distribute weekly announcements about events to the mailing list and University community. Monitor complex department budgets and/or grants.   Please note, this position reports 9 months per calendar year. Non-working months will be June, July, and August.

Arts and Science is looking for a dedicated Program Administrator. This individual reports to the faculty Director of the Center for Soft Matter Research (CSMR) and oversees administrative support to the Center. The Program Administrator develops and implements office policies and procedures for the CSMR, coordinates recruitment and onboarding of new Center members, and provides logistical support for the Center’s international visitors program, including managing the Center’s dedicated visitor apartments. The Program Administrator also coordinates and provides logistical support for the Center’s seminar series, research meetings and outreach programs. The CSMR Administrator manages the budget for these activities, initiates purchases, and provides accounting support for research grants.

The purpose of the position is to provide legal counsel and support primarily with respect to the University's real estate portfolio and operations as well as other corporate and transactional matters, as needed. This position will be a main point of contact for various University departments including the Office of Real Estate, Facilities and Construction Management, and Faculty Housing. The Associate General Counsel will handle legal matters relating to the acquisition, sale, and leasing of real property; zoning, land use, and environmental matters; construction contracts; provision of University housing to students and faculty; faculty loans and other financing programs; real estate tax and tax exemption analysis and filings; landlord-tenant issues; and third-party licensing and facilities use. The position will focus primarily on New York City real estate but will also support the University’s real estate operations in other domestic locations as well as its Global Sites in other countries. The Associate General Counsel will liaise closely with outside counsel and University stakeholders and serve as a subject matter expert within the Office of General Counsel on matters relating to real estate. The Associate General Counsel will also assist with a variety of other corporate and transactional matters for the University including commercial contracts, finance, intellectual property, and corporate governance.
