The Wasserman Center for Career Development at the School of Professional Studies is seeking a Career Development Counselor to guide, advise, and support students through the career planning, decision making, and job searching processes. Assist students in analyzing their interests, skills and developing career goals at all stages in their professional and academic careers. Assist with career programs including planning, marketing and implementation and gathering data to analyze program effectiveness and student outcomes. Work closely with employers to assist them with talent needs utilizing employer resources available (in-person and virtual offerings) from job postings, recruiter-in-residence, resume books, career fairs/industry expos, social media initiatives, as well as involvement in employer forums, conferences, career development panels and programs.

This position will have primary responsibilities for student life for students who study away in New York. Based in the Office Global Programs, and reporting to the Site Director for New York as a study away site, the incumbent will liaise with various units within Global Programs, as well as units in Shanghai and Abu Dhabi, and relevant units in New York as required (e.g. Student Affairs, Housing, schools). The objective is to assure that study away students to New York are well prepared to integrate into the NYU community and subsequently have a successful semester/term. Develop original content for the social media team through daily writing and management of posts for NYU’s central channels (Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube), which reach more than 2 million people. The incumbent will be part of the team that creates the consistent “voice” across NYU’s central social channels. Primary responsibilities are to draft and schedule daily posts sharing university news from internal and external sources; to creatively prepare original content produced by the Director of Social Media, Assistant Director of Multimedia, Multimedia Content Producer, and Assistant Director of Visual Storytelling for use on a variety of digital platforms; to conceive messaging for various campaigns; to perform social listening and campaign analysis using the Sprinklr platform, and to engage with followers on all of NYU’s channels. The social media manager will also partner with the Director of Social Media to provide social best practices and updates to communicators across the university, supervise student assistants and organize student social media takeovers, help with production on video shoots, and write profiles or other pieces of content to be featured on social.

Provides essential support to the Office of Academic Affairs for the development, revision, and continuous improvement of more than 100 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs (including 17 accredited programs) in the NYU Steinhardt School for Culture, Education, and Human Development. The Office for Research is the research administration office at the Silver School of Social Work responsible for the review and management of internal and externally funded proposals and awards from a diverse range of federal, state, local, private, and industrial sponsors. In conjunction with the Associate Dean for Research, the School’s Dean, and faculty, the Director of Research Administration will develop and execute plans for research and grants development, which are modified annually.   The Director of Research Administration will provide pre- and post-award assistance with preparing and modifying sponsored research budgets and budget justifications. Further the Director will ensure that faculty adhere to University regulations on hiring research project staff and consultants, project spending, and that program and fiscal reporting to funders is accurate and timely. Additional duties include monitoring grant and contract financial reports to ensure budgets are not exceeded and that monthly personnel, OTPS, and overhead postings are accurate and complete in coordination with the University's Sponsored Research Accounting area. The Director will manage the School's participation in the University's Effort Reporting System.   Further, the Director of Research Administration will develop annual plans for research and grants development incorporating School and faculty interests and expertise. Additional duties include assisting faculty with the preparation of high-quality proposals to be submitted to University offices, foundations, corporations, and City, State, and Federal agencies in coordination with the University's Office of Sponsored Programs and Contracts Office.   This individual will provide planning and guidance for the implementation of new initiatives and special projects in the Office for Research. This includes preparing specialized correspondence and reports on behalf of the Associate Dean for Research as requested and providing outreach to the research community via School's web site, newsletter, open house sessions, etc.   The Director of Research Administration supervises and oversees the Office for Research’s staff and hires, trains, and evaluates performance to ensure high-quality work output.
