The NYU Gallatin School of Individualized Study seeks an Associate Director, Writing Program to partner with the Director to direct, develop and implement strategic initiatives and independently oversee all activities for Gallatin’s Writing Program. Independently manage several key ongoing projects, including Confluence (online forum for writing, art, and research), and a collaboration with University Settlement Society comprising a weekly class to adult ESOL students and biennial anthology of their writing. Direct, develop and produce all Special Events for the Program from conception through completion. Collaborate with Director on managing all publications, including the annual books, such as The Literacy Review and The Gallatin Review. Oversee all student-run publications and provide expert guidance to student editors. Supervise the WP’s student workers (designers, photographers, videographers, etc.) Plan and oversee the WP’s annual budget.
The Schack Institute of Real Estate at the School of Professional Studies (SPS) is seeking an Administrative AideII to perform a wide range of clerical, secretarial and general office duties including those of a confidential nature. This indidvidual will report to the Associate Dean for Schack. Prioritize office activities and delegate work to student and/or casual employees. May act as work leader to junior clerical support staff. Respond to inquiries displaying a comprehensive knowledge of the department's activities, policies and programs. Interact with the general public as NYU liaison and with University personnel including those at the senior level to resolve issues and problems. Customize and/or compose letters on own initiative or in response to requests for information. Perform general word processing duties utilizing intermediate to advanced-level functions. Modify and/or create databases and complex spreadsheets. Monitor complex department budgets and/or grants.

Representatives will focus on customer service and serve as customers' primary point of contact and escalate/route issues of a more complex nature as appropriate. Serve as resource and initial contact for prospective students interested in NYU graduate programs. Provide a high level of personalized service to inquiries and applicants. Connect prospective students with appropriate campus graduate admissions offices. Educate prospective graduate students regarding admission policies and procedures. Respond to phone and email inquiries in a courteous and professional manner; assess needs and provide the appropriate information and/or direct them to the appropriate department. Display a comprehensive knowledge of policies, academic programs, and office activities across the University. Communicate with various administrative units including, various Graduate Admissions offices, the Registrar, Student Affairs, and Financial Services regarding student issues. Perform a range of clerical and general office duties, including those of a confidential nature. Assist professional staff with office activities and projects as assigned, including data collection and analysis. Compose letters and correspondence and assist in the creation of division training manuals. Perform general word processing, spreadsheet and data entry duties utilizing intermediate-level functions. Gather information on graduate inquiries. Modify and/or create databases and complex spreadsheets.
Monitor daily Central Sterilization Unit (CSU) activities, within guidelines, including the sterilization of instrument cassettes, bur blocks, endofile boxes and handpieces. Examine clinical hand pieces to ensure they are properly maintained after each use (purging and lubrication of each unit) and ensure compliance with all workflow and infection control policies and procedures. Periodically inspect quality of instrument cassettes and report any deficiencies to the Assistant Director. Track dental instruments through all phases of the cleaning and sterilization process by utilizing scanning technology. Sterilize instruments, operate autoclave, and perform routine maintenance on a variety of simple dental equipment (disassemble, clean, reassemble, store). Maintain inventory, assist with ordering supplies, stock medical disposable goods in storage areas, and ensure central sterilization has all necessary materials). Answer telephones; respond to requests from internal and external customers.
Sterilize dental instruments including instrument cassettes, bur blocks, endo file boxes, and handpieces. Track dental instruments through all phases of the cleaning and sterilization process by utlilizing scanning technology. Perform routine maintenance on a variety of dental equipment. Operate disinfection and sterilization equipment. Troubleshoot error messages, perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal operation of equipment. Maintain files and records and provide support to clinic office staff.
Sterilize dental instruments including instrument cassettes, bur blocks, endo file boxes, and handpieces. Track dental instruments through all phases of the cleaning and sterilization process by utlilizing scanning technology. Perform routine maintenance on a variety of dental equipment.
