Provide support to the Capital Projects and Facilities Brooklyn facilities by performing administrative functions such as processing procurement and reimbursement requests, screening requests by phone call and email and greeting in-person visitors. Maintain office supplies and inventory and assist on behalf of Facilities leadership, contacting building support staff when necessary to address timely needs.
Sterilize dental instruments including instrument cassettes, bur blocks, endo file boxes, and handpieces. Track dental instruments through all phases of the cleaning and sterilization process by utlilizing scanning technology. Perform routine maintenance on a variety of dental equipment. Operate disinfection and sterilization equipment. Troubleshoot error messages, perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal operation of equipment. Maintain files and records and provide support to clinic office staff.
Provide the first level of customer service to patients of the dental clinic, from greeting and routing patients to record maintenance and cashier duties. Monitor daily clinic operations, within guidelines. Assign and review work of and train a number of student and/or casual employees engaged in routine tasks. Assign patients to dental students. Maintain student and patient appointment books. Triage emergencies. Arrange for substitute patients as cancellations occur. Schedule follow-up examinations. Ensure proper processing of health-related transactions; calculate payments. Update and maintain files and records. Provide suggestions that improve existing policies and procedures. Handle inquiries requiring additional investigation and/or specialized knowledge.

The NYU Student Health Center is seeking a per-diem dermatologist (7 - 14 hours per week) to provide consultations on referral from our primary care services for common problems including acne, psoriasis, pigmented lesions, and other presenting complaints. Our Washington Square-based health center serves 50,000 + undergraduate and graduate students in NYC, including a large international and/or traveling population.
