Manage the design and construction of capital improvements and major infrastructure projects for New York University's Planning and Construction Division to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with approved budgets, schedules and quality standards. Manage consultants, contractors and other vendors to optimize financial results and quality performance. Maintain highest standards of ethics and integrity.
The Project Manager will provide operational support to the Vertically Integrated Projects Program in the Undergraduate Academics Office. Facilitate the various actions required to successfully offer and conduct the Vertically Integrated Project Programs. The Project Manager will spearhead the development, coordination and execution of projects related to the operations of the Vertically Integrated Projects Program. Direct all aspects of gathering, analysis, training and communication for the VIP Program including student recruitment, applications, admission, enrollment, student success, diversity, graduation, retention, and job placement to program development, expansion, evaluation, collaborations, events management, funding, and outreach. Supervise staff and responsible for performance management, recruitment, and training and development of new employees.
About the NYU Vertically Integrated Projects Program:Vertically Integrated Projects are one-credit hour courses that offer students the opportunity to work on faculty research and innovation projects for curricular credit. VIP teams are also made up of 5-40 students of all undergraduate academic ranks and organized into a professional management structure. Students enroll in the one to three credits for at least three semesters and up to six. The long term engagement on the project allows students to grow into leader and mentor roles and ideally create a sustainable cycle of students, as 3rd and 4th year students train new 1st and 2nd year students. This experiential learning opportunity enables students to build a portfolio of projects that will help them to secure jobs. Faculty and graduate students benefit from student work and a broader impact of their research and education efforts, while students gain additional project experience, leadership opportunities, and teamwork skills. The Director, Payroll Operations will lead the University’s (non-Medical Center) Payroll Operations including: ensuring the complete, compliant, accurate and timely execution of pay cycles, remittance and reconciliation of tax liabilities and other withholding, collection of time and attendance data, preparation and issuance of tax filings and W-2’s, and reconciliation of payroll-related data in the University’s PeopleSoft general ledger and data warehouse. Monitor and review operational and service metrics to identify and implement process improvements. Serve as Payroll subject matter expert for University’s PeopleLink service center and ensure escalated cases are resolved in a timely, courteous manner.
Partnering with the Manager, Strategic Sourcing; Category Leads; and other members of the Procurement team, conduct complex research and analysis of data relating to procurement spend that will inform departmental procurement sourcing strategies. Generate routine and ad hoc reports, data and charts that would assist in the design and implementation of recommendations and solutions in an effort to reduce procurement category spend, identify supplier consolidation opportunities, and optimize contract compliance. Identify trends and identify to department leaders areas of concern to hone focus to address opportunities for improvement.
Reporting to the Assistant Vice Provost for Research, the Senior Director, Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) including the Contract Office (CO) provides pre-award and non-financial post award research administration service and support to all departments, schools, research centers and institutes at the Washington Square (WSQ) campus as well as all of NYU’s global sites, including NYU Abu Dhabi and NYU Shanghai.
OSP’s philosophy, mission and decision making focuses on building partnerships across the University that provide effective and efficient infrastructure resulting in decreases in administrative burden for faculty so that we may collectively maximize the time researchers spend advancing research and discovery at New York University.
OSP’s Senior Director will lead the OSP in collaborating with and supporting a wide range of departments, schools, administrative offices, staff and especially faculty on the development and submission of competitive proposals and the proactive management of grant and contract awards for basic, applied and experimental research, training and other sponsored activities funded by public and private not-for-profit sponsors including corporations, foundations and foreign organizations. She/he will support and mentor the OSP team by continuously evaluating core competencies, skill sets, and specialized needs and provide opportunities for continued professional development to ensure the office is properly staffed to meet campus wide needs for research and other sponsored activity.
Core Services & Functions
Following are the core services and functions of the OSP and CO in pre-award and non-financial post award research administration at WSQ:
- Identify potential sources and programs of funding based on matches with faculty expertise and interest and facilitate connections for collaborative and multidisciplinary sponsored projects;
- Review, interpret, and provide consultation regarding solicitation guidelines;
- Facilitate the development of budgets and cost proposals;
- Serve as the administrative liaison with internal partners managing NYU’s research and other sponsored activity portfolio and extramural sponsors;
- Serve as NYU’s Authorized Organizational Representative; responsible to bind NYU to the submission of proposals including assurances, representations and certifications as well as the negotiation and acceptance of award terms and conditions in the conduct of sponsored programs;
- Maintain the university’s grants management system (Cayuse) with data populating the university’s financial system and data warehouse for research metrics.
- Facilitate collaborations through the execution of subawards for programmatic performance; conduct risk assessment and subrecipient monitoring;
- Advise investigators on sponsored project award administration with a particular focus on the core principles of protecting academic freedom and responsible stewardship;
- Ensure compliance with federal regulatory requirements, NYU, and sponsor-specific policies and procedures.
Reporting to the Director of the LGBTQ Student Center, the Assistant Director of the LGBTQ Student Center develops, implements, and assesses intersectional programs and events for LGBTQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, and Asexual) student communities and their allies at NYU; manages and facilitates LGBTQIA+ education and training; advises LGBTQIA+ student organizations and leadership programs/cohorts; supervises student staff; manages program/event, education, and leadership programs budget; manages marketing (e.g. social media, graphic design, website); serves as a resource for LGBTQIA+ students; and supports the day-to-day functioning of the LGBTQ Student Center in the absence of the Director. The aforementioned responsibilities are done in collaboration with key student-serving stakeholders at the University within administrative and academic units.
As a part of this unit, the Assistant Director of the LGBTQ Student Center supports projects and initiatives within the Office of Global Inclusion, Diversity, and Strategic Innovation.

Scholars at Risk (SAR) is an international network of over 500 of higher education institutions in 39 countries whose mission is to protect threatened scholars, prevent attacks on higher education communities, and promote academic freedom. SAR provides temporary academic positions of refuge for threatened intellectuals at network member institutions, helping to save courageous voices. SAR also helps with counseling, referrals, and campaigns for scholars who are imprisoned or otherwise silenced, and conducts training, education, and advocacy to promote university values worldwide.
Scholars at Risk (SAR) is seeking a highly-organized and team-oriented individual to join the SAR team as a grants and development administrator. This is new position will supports SAR’s program and fundraising efforts by providing primary drafting and reporting on concept notes, proposals, applications and reporting on grants from foundations, government agencies, corporations and other institutional funding partners. This position reports to the Development Officer, Deputy Director and Executive Director. The position requires excellent research, writing, and organizational skills, attention to detail and judgment. It is ideal for a proactive individual with excellent writing skills who takes initiative and would like to make a major contribution to SAR, an international human rights movement focused on free inquiry and expression. The position requires timely and professional communication with SAR/NYU staff and grant sponsors.
Lead a team providing project management, training, communications, change management and quality control for operational Finance, HR, Payroll and Decision Support Group (DSG) projects. Lead project and change management activities for larger operational projects. Function as a center of excellence to teach best practices across Finance and Employee Systems & Services (FESS). Develop strategies and oversee the effective delivery of training and communications for Finance and HR systems and services. Define, measure and improve case management and service delivery across FESS. Mentor and develop staff.
Maintain and review student accounts records: prepare journal entries that affect tuition/fees; research and determine adjustments including temporary clearances and interest calculations. Authorize registration and transcript overrides to student accounts; transmit student account information to other University offices. Reconcile charges and payments; recommend deferments, temporary clearances, and interest and finance charge waivers for students in arrears. Serve as primary source of information to students on policies, procedures, tuition accounts, methods of payment, payment plans, and provide general and more specialized information. Respond to complex customer service inquires displaying a comprehensive knowledge of departmental and University policies and procedures. Interact with the general public as NYU liaison and with University personnel to resolve issues and problems. Prepare a variety of reports; compile statistics and summarize data. Assist with registration. Provide support services to other Washington Square Bursar's Office areas.
The Graduate Recruitment Specialist will report to the Associate Director of Graduate Marketing and Recruitment and be responsible for aspects of graduate marketing and recruitment, including the recruitment of international and domestic students, and recruitment travel and logistics.. The Graduate Recruitment Specialist will work with office leadership to meet graduate enrollment goals for NYU Tandon’s Masters and Doctoral programs as well as develop and shape outreach and marketing strategies.
