Reporting to the Associate Registrar, the Assistant Registrar is a functional expert with thorough knowledge of business practice, academic policy, compliance matters and operational procedure in the Office of the University Registrar with specialization in transfer credit evaluation, admissions credentials, academic credentials, curriculum management, degree requirements, academic exceptions/waivers/substitutions, academic credentials, and graduation processing. Manage the design, approval, mechanical creation, release to the printer, and corrections for all NYU Press covers and jackets. Supervise freelance designers of jackets and covers; Design select jackets and covers; Prepare mechanicals as necessary; Coordinate with the Production Associate on the manufacturing and scheduling of reprint program; Manage the production elements for first-time paperbacks (convert covers and arrange manufacture); Assist Production Manager as needed on castoffs and interior designs; Manage production/design intern; manage archiving of new titles; Oversee overall NYU Press brand management related to marketing and series covers; interface with IT for digital asset management and file conversions; Solicit estimates from vendors, monitor pricing as necessary.

Provide technical support for assigned areas of operation in the Department of Film & Television, Tisch School of the Arts. Operate a wide variety of stage equipment including specialized equipment requiring significant training. Operate, install, and build stage sets and set components including cameras, light sources, and audio sound equipment. Instruct students and faculty on operating equipment; conduct individual and group training workshops; and demonstrate the use of equipment. Advise students and faculty on equipment that would best meet their technical needs. Perform skilled maintenance and repairs on complex equipment and parts.
