Position Summary

The Assistant Director, Advisement & Student Services will manage and oversee all academic, administrative, and student services operations of selected academic programs. Manage flow of student issues and concerns; provide direct counseling and advisement services to students. Develop and manage program budgets. Collaborate with faculty directors to develop short- and long-term goals for the academic programs and services provided to the students. Develop and cultivate effective relationships with University and School constituencies and outside contacts to help achieve program objectives. Serve as a reader on the admissions committee and represent the programs at recruitment events.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree

Preferred Education:
Master's degree in higher education, public administration, public policy, or urban planning.

Required Experience:
4 - 5 year’s relevant professional level experience or an equivalent combination. Must include experience in student services and/or program development.

Preferred Experience:
Experience planning events and managing budgets.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Must possess outstanding client service skills, the ability to maintain extremely well-organized records, and a detail-oriented approach. Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as oral and written communication skills, are also a necessity in this role. Counseling, student advisement, and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels are required.
