NYU’s Stern School of Business has an exciting opportunity available for a DevOps Administrator. The selected candidate will manage the underlying key infrastructure and critical services that support Stern's IT services, which includes building, maintaining and promoting a working framework to shorten development and delivery cycles to respond to the growing needs of clients in a secure, reliable and scalable manner. The DevOps Administrator will consult with users to understand their needs, present options to meet those needs, and develop and implement effective information technology solutions. The selected candidate will also train users on new and existing IT services.
The selected candidate will have a bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience in system administration, or as a network administrator, developer or equivalent combination of education and experience. The selected candidate will also have strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to write purchase justifications, train others in complex topics, make presentations to internal audiences, and interact positively with upper management and customers. Comfortable working in a mixed environment with Linux and Windows server platforms, a solid understanding of basic operating systems concepts such as paging and swapping, inter-process communication, devices, device drivers, and filesystem concepts, familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts, ability to configure file sharing (NFS or CIFS), ability to query DNS records, understanding of basic routing concepts, job scheduling with tools such as cron, Control-M, etc. are also required. The selected candidate works well alone or in a team, can work with minimal supervision while keeping management continually informed, and is self-directed, focused and organized.
