The Manager, Talent Development works with key stakeholders to develop and execute a robust development strategy to ensure that Finance and HR talent have a clear development pathway for enhancing their careers. This role will be responsible for 1)identifying the frameworks by which policies, processes, systems and skills are developed and 2) guiding Finance and HR administrators across the university to the tools and resources they need to be successful in their functions and careers. Leads the development of required training, and works closely with subject matter experts to meet the training needs of target audiences. Manage multiple training projects across Finance and HR areas in partnership with functional subject matter experts that result in high quality content and resources for employee development. Keeps abreast of new techniques and innovations in the development and career management fields. Establish career frameworks utilizing the finance and HR competencies as a foundation for career paths, development plans, and individual career development
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience: 5+ years of professional-level experience and expertise in training and talent development strategy and execution, or equivalent combination of education and experience 3+ years of experience and expertise leading projects and 2+ years of experience and expertise directly/indirectly managing staff or project teams and
Preferred Experience: 3+ years Previous experience in Higher Education, Finance and/or HR.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent leadership, strategy, communication, training, people management and negotiation skills. Creative and innovative thinking. Proven ability to deliver clear, concise, accurate and articulate communication in an appropriate manner to suit the intended audience. Knowledge of modern training methodologies, technologies and development processes. Skilled at designing, developing and implementing online and instructor-led training programs and materials. Experience with course development tools such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate or similar is a plus. Proficient in PowerPoint, and Acrobat. Proven ability to scope, manage and deliver on medium-sized projects. Working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies. Ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of Finance, HR and Payroll processes and systems.
