The Program Administrator, VIP/GE will be the key resource in managing administrative and academic operations for Tandon School of Engineering's Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) and General Engineering (GE) Program. Position will manage recruiting and enrollment, plan and coordinate VIP events, promote and facilitate academic programming (workshops, speakers), and monitor budgets. Position will support VIP Director and Manager to oversee activities and schedules of VIP and GE student workers, ensuring accurate and timely payroll. Position will work to ensure overall efficient and effective operations for Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) and General Engineering (GE).
Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science, education, technology discipline, higher education administration, project management, or communications.
Master's Degree in engineering, computer science, education, technology, communications, organizational management, or another appropriate discipline.
3+ years providing administrative/operational support, higher education/technical background
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Must enjoy working with people and be effective at establishing and managing relationships at the NYU, city, state, national, and international levels. Must interact effectively and over the long-term with NYU students, staff, faculty, alumni, administrators, etc. Understanding of science and technology and its impact on society is required. Excellent communication skills: written/oral/presentation/etc. Computer literacy/proficiency is essential. MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to speak effectively in public strongly preferred. Experience and success with grant proposal writing and grant management.
