Position Summary

The Senior Administrative Manager is responsible for providing administrative leadership to Tandon’s Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering Program. In conjunction with the Department Chair and Tandon Leadership, position will develop and implement strategic goals, and oversee the administration of academics and business operations of the department. Position ensures effective and efficient delivery of quality and timely services, coordinates complex administrative matters, resolves escalated issues, drives a culture of administrative excellence, and champions diversity and inclusivity throughout department.


Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree

Required Experience:
5 years of progressive administrative experience and responsibilities (e.g., managing administrative services/processes, budgets, and staff) or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience with higher education institution.

Preferred Experience:
Demonstrated success in managing strategic initiatives, supervision of staff and budget.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent leadership, planning, management, networking, and presentation skills. Ability to negotiate solutions to resolve problems and persuade others when some differences of opinion may exist. Must demonstrate ability to work as a team member; to think creatively; and to evaluate and improve existing process and procedures. Must have strong and polished written and oral communication skills. Position demands significant attention to detail, effective communications, team collaboration and occasional work on weekends. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and knowledge of other PC programs.
