  • Position Summary

    New York University is seeking a Director of Nursing to join our medical leadership team for its award winning Student Health Center (SHC). Opportunities abound for the right candidate to be a part of a transformative effort at our quality-driven, multi-specialty medical practice, housed in a state of the art facility in Manhattan's Greenwich Village.  Our next Director of Nursing will help lead the organization in our journey to provide safe, quality, and efficient care that meets our students' needs.

    Our AAAHC accredited organization serves our Washington Square and Brooklyn locations and acts as a hub for health and wellness activities around the globe for students attending NYU at one of our many study-away sites. With over 200 employees dedicated to providing high-quality, student-centered healthcare, NYU has been a leader in nationally recognized continuous quality improvement efforts and for providing fully integrated healthcare to our students. 

     

    Develops, plans, implements and supervises nursing care at the New York University Student Health Center (SHC). Develops, plans, and implements provider and nursing quality improvement strategies to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and agencies, and SHC and accreditation agency by-laws.

    Qualifications

    Required Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Nursing and

    Preferred Education:
    Master's degree in Nursing Administration

    Required Experience:
    5 years' progressively responsible administrative experience or equivalent combination. Must include experience with nursing administration, staff supervision, and developing nursing policies and procedures, quality assurance and improvement programs, and risk management.

    Preferred Experience:
    Broad background in a variety of fields (emergency/urgent, preventive medicine, epidemiological and accreditation issues)

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage administrative operations and service programs. Ability to interpret and articulate policies and procedures to internal and external constituents.

    Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Advanced certifications in clinical areas of interest. CPR/ACLS certified.
