  • Position Summary

    Responsible for managing complex operating budgets, and providing guidance and support to leaders and department administrators across Steinhardt toward the management of budgets to ensure fiscal accountability. Oversees the development of financial templates and reports, and the supervision of staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating staffing needs. Provides recommendations to the Executive Director of Finance and Steinhardt Leadership.

    Qualifications

    Required Education:
    Bachelor's Degree in Business Accounting

    Preferred Education:
    Master's Degree

    Required Experience:
    5+ years progressively responsible experience in budget development and financial analysis, including database and reporting systems, analysis and reconciliation of account and ledgers. Consultative skill-set with proven experience in client service.

    Preferred Experience:
    Related experience in a non-profit or educational institution.

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Strong problem solving, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with advanced Excel and strong knowledge and experience with database applications. Ability to understand management processes and requirements and to frame the results of research and analysis in a clear and concise fashion. Ability to interact effectively with a diverse population at all levels in a fast-paced office within a complex organization.

    Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Knowledge of basic financial principals and experience working with Excel, Oracle, Hyperion, PeopleSoft or other large-scale ERP software.
