This position will be a part of the Cyber NYC Applied Learning Initiative, a collaborative endeavor between the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), and several academic and industry entities charged with the mission of establishing New York City as a global leader in cybersecurity education, training, and talent. Cyber NYC is a $100 million suite of public-private investments to establish New York City as a global leader in cybersecurity and catalyze jobs. The initiative will strategically grow NYC’s cybersecurity diverse talent pipeline and workforce, help companies thrive, and build networks and community spaces.
Specifically, the Instructional Designer will work to establish the Stackable Credentials Program, which will provide life-long learning and stackable credentialing through one-month, self-paced online modules focused on Cybersecurity topics and created by industry. An innovative approach to education, micro-credentialing will enable students to take tailored coursework throughout their lives according to industry’s evolving needs. By operating across New York City universities and securing credit-sharing agreements, this program will widen the availability and flexibility of Cybersecurity education and help make New York City a global leader in Cybersecurity education.”
This position works with instructors and educational technologists to design and develop online courses (for-credit and non-credit/continuing education) for the Tandon School of Engineering, ensuring high quality course materials are created and courses fulfill their objectives while providing a quality student experience. This is accomplished through the application of evidence-based pedagogy, knowledge of educational technology tools and systems, and effective implementation of project management practices.

Master's Degree Related to learning/instructional design/technology

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
• Demonstrated project management experience • Demonstrated understanding of educational pedagogy, particularly in relation to online teaching and learning • Experience developing learning material using one or more of the following: Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Premiere, Camtasia, etc.
