The Assistant Director, Technical Systems provides the day-to-day support for the implementation, integration, and ongoing system administration of a diverse technology infrastructure that supports both operations in Campus Services and Public Safety. This diverse technology includes physical security technology (access control, alarm systems, intrusion systems, security cameras), badging technology, one card technology, ticketing system, event management systems, radio and other communications systems, emergency notification, dispatch system, and records management systems. The incumbent will manage planning and day-to-day systems administration of technology systems in use by Campus Services and Public Safety, and will resolve issues directly or through facilitation and engagement of University partners and third parties as appropriate. Partnering with the departmental units, the position manages system-and data-related projects and identifies and implements relevant and new technologies and monitor and optimize system performance. The Assistant Director, Technical Systems administers enterprise systems broadly across Campus Services and Security including coordinating system-level and maintenance programming and arranging for upgrades. Supports deterrence, detection, response, and investigation of policy and criminal violations at the University and enables the department’s response to a variety of information security incidents, including unauthorized access, and potential breaches. He/She also coordinates the installation and operation, programming, testing, and acceptance of enterprise systems, including, but not limited to, credentialing system, video, access control and alarm monitoring systems in conjunction with project planning efforts.
