  • Position Summary

    Reporting to the Senior Director of Enrollment Management Technology, the Associate Director provides oversight to functional support to Enrollment Management and units across the University for the Student Information Systems and other ancillary systems/applications. As a proactive member of the managerial team, they provide both oversight and support of day-to-day functions with an ability to resolve the most complex operational issues. With business analyst experience, the Associate Director analyzes and configures high priority and high volume system processes that impact applicant and student records. Define, specify and implement system applications necessary to the operations of the student information system (SIS); define requirements for installing, improving and replacing systems; evaluate existing systems; provide systems analysis, technical advice and support to users. Present systems design recommendations to Department; develop testing and conversion plans; administer installation of programs in production stage; and maintain strategic relationships with vendors, consultants and University's Information Technology Services to ensure uninterrupted service and optimum level of systems operation. Design, maintain, and execute queries, customized reports and data files. Conduct periodic checks to ensure accuracy and integrity of data. Supervise and cross-train team members.


    Required Education:
    Bachelor's degree and

    Preferred Education:
    Master’s Degree, Training in systems analysis and database programming.

    Required Experience:
    5+ years' related experience or equivalent combination, with student applications in an academic environment. Must include experience with systems applications and analysis, integrated systems and providing user support services.

    Preferred Experience:
    Experience with batch process schedulers (BMC Control M, PeopleSoft, or similar). Relevant courses (systems analysis, database systems, Java, web programming) Experience with security administration for related systems and applications (e.g., PeopleSoft) and supporting mainframe systems.

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to diagnose & troubleshoot system errors with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Strong team player as well as demonstrate the ability to complete projects independently. Proficient with MS office applications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical audience. Able to complete tasks with aggressive timelines. Strong desire to serve students, faculty, and administrators in an university support setting. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and client support skills. PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Query, SQL experience, BRIO, Tableau or similar reporting tool. Ability to interact with a diverse population and all levels of personnel, and to demonstrate tact and diplomacy when in dealing with difficult issues and/or diverse organizations. Ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty, staff, parents, professional colleagues, and the public.

    Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Demonstrate understanding of programming logic (examples: SQL, XML, HTML, and/or JavaScript). Understands the working of a relational database (examples: PeopleSoft 9.x, ImageNow). Experience with Windows OS, Linux/Unix.
