  • Position Summary

    New York University seeks an experienced Director of Development for the NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing (DoD). This position reports to the Executive Director of Schools & Institutes in University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR). The DoD will be responsible for leading and achieving a minimum of $5M of annual fundraising results and supervising a team of five (5). The DoD will define and implement priorities for fundraising activities; execute cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for alumni, parents, and friends of NYU Meyers and manage a portfolio of planned giving and major gift prospects. Works closely with both UDAR colleagues across Schools & Institutes and the Meyers leadership team. Drives strategic and collaborative approaches to secure support for student scholarships, fellowships and research in nursing and the health sciences. Supports the Dean’s fundraising portfolio and manages a portfolio of approximately 100 rated prospects. The Director of Development is a member of the Meyers internal Dean’s Leadership Coordinating Council and works with the Dean to strategically foster relationships and engagement with the external Dean’s Council.

    Qualifications

    Required Education:
    Bachelor's degree

    Required Experience:
    8+ years' relevant experience or equivalent. Must include experience in fundraising, cultivation and stewardship of donors

    Preferred Experience:
    Experience with fundraising in an academic and/or health care, environmental, or science based non-profit environment

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to take initiative and collaborate with others. Knowledge of MS Office Suite and strong managerial skills
