  • Position Summary

    Play a key role in developing training and communications, strategies, and materials to support the use of financial and HR systems and policies for administrators and faculty. Possess unique knowledge and experience with training and communications platforms and systems; assist in evaluating and adopting new technologies. Working with subject matter experts, design, write, edit and implement eLearning and other training materials. Work with units within Financial Operations & Treasury (FO&T) and across the University in identifying and addressing needs that could be served through such outputs as online and instructor-led courses and materials, email messages, interactive presentation materials, and web-based content relevant to financial processes, operations, etc. Maintain and enhance the website and other communications platforms of the Division. Write and edit print and digital communications. As a skilled instructional designer, communicator and project manager, provide a creative approach, attention to detail, the ability to complete numerous projects on deadline, and the capacity to build consensus.

    Qualifications

    Required Education:
    Bachelor's degree.

    Preferred Education:
    N/A

    Required Experience:
    2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination. Significant experience with training and communications technologies, including digital media, course management systems, and content creation tools. Experience developing training curricula and courses, communications, and writing and editing copy for the digital environment.

    Preferred Experience:
    Experience managing web content and producing multimedia training and resources.

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Experience using design software (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and eLearning production tools such as Camtasia, Captivate, and Storyline). Proven creative/design sensibilities. Ability to effectively multitask large scale projects. Ability to adapt and achieve success with changing work flows and priorities. Strong client consulting skills and attention to detail. Ability to successfully interact with a diverse group of individuals at all levels and build consensus. Knowledge of standard office software and HTML/popular content management systems. Ability to work collaboratively with a small team. Ability to prioritize, balance, and deliver quality work effectively. Strong writing and editing skills. Strong communications skills, including writing and editing content for the web, training materials, and presentations.

    Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Extensive understanding of the effectiveness of different communication materials (e.g., proposals, user guides, reports, articles, promotional materials, brochures, web sites, presentations). Experience working independently as well as cooperatively with colleagues and clients as required. Experience working with other information technology professionals on joint projects.
