  • Position Summary

    This position will provide comprehensive design expertise (UX/UI, visual presentation, layout) on a variety of multimedia production and operational needs for use in technology-enhanced educational materials.

    Qualifications

    Required Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Interactive Media, Interaction Design, or similar, relevant field.

    Preferred Education:
    Master's degree in a relevant field.

    Required Experience:
    3+ years of experience working with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other graphics, UI, and web development tools; interactive and Layout Design for user experiences and interfaces; and creating rapid prototypes for projects.

    Preferred Experience:
    Creation of visual assets in an educational or learning environment. Experience with in usability testing and graphical user interface development. Direct experience working with clients. Experience with web-based software tools such as JIRA, Wordpress, and Google Apps. Experience with the Sakai LMS. Experience working with clients/customers on complex projects.

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Must be comfortable and competent working with the following client-based operating systems: Apple Mac and iOS, MS Windows, and Android. Must have excellent interdisciplinary design skills in UX/UI, usability and accessibility, and visual presentation. Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and team building skills. Demonstrated creative problem solving abilities and initiatives.

    Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Familiarity with Web 2.0 technologies such as Google APIs. Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices.
