  • Position Summary

    The Communications Manager is responsible for the development, creation, and execution of marketing and communication projects in accordance with UDAR's overall marketing and communications strategy for global alumni outreach as a member of the team reporting to the Director of Communications. Projects may include print, online and social media components for Alumni Relations, Development and communication projects. Integrated communications, including digital, social, and interactive platforms supported by the University or as directed through additional requirements, will have the goal of increasing alumni engagement and interaction with the University. Additionally, the Communications Manager will have the responsibility of providing service and support to the development and alumni relations efforts as related to technologies and processes for digital, or interactive media and systems. The Manager will stay up-to-date on current and best practices and trends, and maintain technical skills.


    Required Education:
    Bachelor's degree

    Required Experience:
    4-5 years related experience or an equivalent combination. Must have integrated marketing experience. Must have experience with design, development, and creation of content for web pages–both standalone and as part of a content management system (CMS) –and designing, developing, and project management of communications and marketing materials.

    Preferred Experience:
    Experience with social media platforms, experience managing content and providing administrative support for a CMS, and experience in an academic environment.

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Excellent planning, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficient with HTML, CSS, and competent with the Adobe Creative Suite including: Photoshop and Dreamweaver. Experience with analysis of and reporting on traffic and other key performance indicators within integrated marketing. Web/marketing statistics using Google analytics, Omniture, or other similar programs. Skilled with Microsoft Excel and Word. Comfortable with Mac and PC operating systems. Knowledge of current and emerging technologies.

    Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator and InDesign. Working knowledge of PHP, MySQL, MS-SQL, and JavaScript.
