The newly created Director of Operations position will oversee the operational service delivery for the school, including the supervision of 1-2 full-time staff members and a small team of student workers. This role will manage Gallatin’s service desk, classroom and AV support function, and act as the primary liaison with university service delivery departments such as Information Technology, Facilities and Construction Management, and Public Safety. The Director will be responsible for putting into place systems and processes for the intake and prioritization of service requests across a broad spectrum of operations, from desktop and classroom support to facilities repair and maintenance, as well as determining the escalation path from service request to project initiation, and providing project and program support where appropriate and necessary. The Director will be responsible for identifying key service synergies and efficiencies between departments, the school, and central university offices and will determine which services are best provided internally through school, via central NYU offices, or external service providers.
Min 7 years' relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience supporting service delivery, operations, and information technology, including a mixed, diverse technology environment, e.g., Mac, PC, on-prem, cloud and SAAS, preferably in higher education.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Expertise in the following areas: Service delivery, including ITSM/ITIL, service desk management, operations.
