  • Position Summary

    The Program Administrator works with the Senior Director to help set the vision for MindfulNYU and student engagement at Global Spiritual Life. This person, plans, organizes and directs the programming and student life activities of MindfulNYU, including a full capacity yoga studio, a robust meditation program, special events and partnerships across the university and the Global Network. The Program Administrator is responsible for managing the programming and student leadership, development of strategic programming for the year across the GNU, and supervising program budgeting. The Program Administrator will also design, implement, and analyze assessment measures for certain elements of MindfulNYU, and will serve as the a university-wide resource for mindfulness and meditation at NYU, providing meditation workshops on-demand, scheduling yoga workshops for groups and offices, and promoting MindfulNYU as a hub and center of all work across campus and globally. This position will also specifically manage and direct outreach, support and programming for spiritual and religious students from marginalized identities across the university, in line with unit, division and University priorities.


    Required Education:
    Bachelors degree or equivalent

    Preferred Education:
    Masters degree in related field, Yoga teaching certification.

    Required Experience:
    2+ years of relevant experience in event planning, budgeting, and programming, including experience in mindfulness and meditation instruction, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Preferred Experience:
    Experience working in higher education and/or with college students, experience creating programming or engaging in outreach for marginalized populations (people of color, LGBTQIA people, religious minorities, people with disabilities, etc..) Experience generating innovative, fresh and appealing programming. Knowledge and familiarity with Photoshop/InDesign and Excel budgeting. Experience creating learning outcomes and measuring success through assessment measures.

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Excellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work on initiatives concurrently. Formal and relevant meditation training and/or certification in meditation instruction.

    Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    4+ years of formal meditation practice, including at least seven days of meditation retreat experience.
