As part of the Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute's development team; implement effective strategies to attract funding. Review and propose cultivation strategies for individual prospects and campaign strategies targeting different segments of assigned school's prospective donors and alumni. Plan and draft correspondence to cultivate prospect and current donors. Arrange all development meetings between the Chair and high level donors; research and prepare prospect background information; and contact prospects to request a meeting to discuss donor opportunities. Plan and implement Development events to attract potential funders and to acknowledge funders for their donations.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree
Required Experience: 2 years' experience with public relations, fundraising or corporate marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience: Experience in journalism.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills; strong analytical skills. Ability to plan and implement events and develop marketing strategies. Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Experience with MS Access and specialized fundraising databases.
