  • Position Summary

    Arts and Science is seeking a Computer/Network Technician to join the Center for Neural Science. This individual will provide technical support to faculty and students, providing orientations, training and problem resolution. Run hardware and software diagnostics; identify and resolve problems, referring more complex problems to supervisor or other employees for resolution. Setup and configure computers and local area networks, ensuring that the configuration and equipment will meet IT requirements and user needs. Perform skilled maintenance and extensive repairs on moderately complex parts and equipment.

    Qualifications

    Required Education:
    High School diploma or equivalent and some relevant technical training.

    Required Experience:
    2-3 years of related experience. Experience providing customer support in an IT environment.

    Preferred Experience:
    Experience providing technology support to a lab or department in a university setting, including knowledge of specialized software, systems, or technologies.

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Understanding of computing procedures and standards and desktop and network configurations in PCs and Mac computers.
