  • Position Summary

    Respond to inquiries from faculty, staff, other University Offices, and the general public regarding OEO policies and requests for accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Conduct intake of faculty, staff, and prospective employees seeking workplace accommodations due to disabilities or medical conditions and facilitate accommodations in consultation with departments and supervisors. Under the direction of the Executive Director, draft, prepare and monitor the annual Affirmative Action Plan to ensure alignment with most currently defined categories and standards. Participate in development and coordination of EEO training related to workplace accommodations, search compliance, and the University’s Affirmative Action Plan. Synthesize, analyze, and update data from various university and government sources (including but not limited to labor market studies, population, and census data, higher education institutions' research, etc.) for inclusion in AAP.


    Required Education:
    Bachelor's degree

    Preferred Education:
    Some relevant graduate coursework.

    Required Experience:
    3 years' relevant professional experience providing a high level of customer service; demonstrated experience in performing complex quantitative analyses related to the Office of Equal Opportunity (OEO) functions and reporting activities.

    Preferred Experience:
    Experience in Higher Education.

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Superb written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Considerable knowledge of office systems and procedures; knowledge of business communication. Ability to take initiative and manage a variety of tasks and projects simultaneously. Ability to deal tactfully and discreetly with sensitive and confidential matters; ability to work under time constraints.

    Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Training or equivalent experience in performing paralegal related services; familiarity with federal, New York State, and New York City legislation related to affirmative action, equal opportunity, and the rights of individuals with disabilities.
