  • Position Summary

    Develop, organize and administer the NYU Intramural Sports Program. Provide exercise and recreation programs to student body through athletic competition including individual and team competitions. Promote fitness while maintaining a safe, organized, and competitive environment. Plan and implement intramural events that meet the strategic goals of the department; conceptualize themes, assess feasibility, and make recommendations to ensure the implementation of successful, targeted events. Develop plans, timelines, staffing and space needs. Assess event staffing requirements; hire, train and supervise student employees. Create advertising and distribute promotional information regarding the intramural program to student body. Negotiate off-site space permits with Chelsea Piers, Bowlmor Lanes, NYC Parks Department, and other leased facilities. Ensure adherence to rules regarding safety, orderly conduct, and eligibility of students and groups. Attend and supervise events to ensure all details are executed as planned. Conduct post-event evaluations and recommend future improvements to Intramural Supervisor. Assist in facility operations for Coles/Palladium. Act as facility supervisor for early morning openning, evenings and weekends as per agreed upon schedule. Be knowlegeble with access system for Coles/Palladium.


    Required Education:
    Bachelor's degree

    Required Experience:
    2 years' related experience in facilities supervision, planning and implementing programs or events or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Preferred Experience:
    Related experience at a higher education institution. Experience managing budgets.

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    CPR and First Aid Training. Excellent interpersonal/motivational skills. Strong customer service skills.
