Play a pivotal role in the advancement and improvement of the University's HR, Payroll and Financial business processes. Work collaboratively with central and departmental administrative users to analyze business requirements and identify solutions that measurably serve to maximize resources (people, money, time) and improve the client experience. Maintain working functional knowledge of business needs and practices for the University's HR, Payroll and Finance business processes, serving as process consultant and change agent. Conduct complex analyses and lead cross-functional teams using appropriate process improvement methodologies that further organizational and strategic goals, identify and analyze current-state processes and issues, and recommend and implement measurable process improvements.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree
Preferred Education: Master's degree in business, operations management, or related field.
Required Experience: 7+ years' relevant business process improvement experience in HR, Payroll and Financial Operations.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Proven knowledge and application of process excellence, lean six sigma methodology, business analysis, reengineering, and process modeling. Must be a hands-on resource who has demonstrated the ability to (1) apply lean six sigma methodology; (2) analyze and document processes using tools like process mapping, in-process metrics and other process measurement techniques; (3) use these results to recommend process improvements and operations metrics dashboard based on the sponsor's goals and objectives; (4) work with the project sponsor, champion and team members to identify and implement improvements; and (5) deliver results handling multiple priorities. Strong collaborative, change management, coaching and analytical skills. Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively handle multiple projects. Ability to develop effective business relationships and build consensus. Strong team player. Excellent writing and communication skills. Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Visio or other business process modeling and analytical tools.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Experience working in Higher Education or a complex global organization. Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification strongly recommended.
