Manage department events and associated budget, including conferences, lecture series, talks, roundtables, etc. Provide individualized post-award support to departmental faculty and doctoral students. Oversee various departmental accounts, including the department's general operating account and individual faculty accounts by maintaining internal shadow systems for tracking revenue and expenses. Supervise clerical and student workers who initiate reimbursement requests in AP Workflow by reviewing and approving all requests for restricted and unrestricted research fund-related travel, honoraria, and instructional supplies in AP Workflow. Serve as administrative initiator in AP Workflow.
Required Education: BA/BS
Required Experience: 2 years of administrative professional experience in office operations and supervising staff; managing budgets and expenditures; and serving as administrative liaison with other organizational offices at all levels.
Preferred Experience: Experience in an academic setting and knowledge of Content Management System or HTML a plus. Intermediate Excel skills.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal, listening, and written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer service orientation. Ability to plan and deliver special events and seminars., including budget management. Demonstrated use of business application software, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Flexible office hours surrounding events. Ability to work in a team and independently.
