NYU's prestigious Leonard N. Stern School of Business has a challenging opportunity for a Database Administrator in the Information Technology department. The Database Administrator will serve as technical liaison to application and system users and vendors regarding database issues, access, and testing as well as data conversion. S/he will lead, assist and collaborate with stakeholders on the customization, maintenance, and integration of system software and database applications. The selected candidate will manage data quality efforts by working with administrative units and the University’s central Information Technology Systems on establishing processes and procedures to identify and scrub inconsistent data. S/he will also recommend new technology and applications and implement changes to policies regarding use of database systems to improve system efficiency and security, and encryption.
Candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree along with 3+ years of experience in database administration and management, including database design and system analysis. Candidates must have advance knowledge of Salesforce, MySQL, Microsoft Office products (including Excel), APIs for web services, SQL Server, and Postgres. Other requirements include excellent organization and strong verbal and written communication skills. Candidates must demonstrate the proven ability to monitor and analyze database problems. Previous programming experience in PHP, Java, APEX (Visualforce), Perl or Python is a plus. Preferred candidates will have experience in coding in HTML5/CSS3 or knowledge of Amazon RDS, Aurora or similar Cloud Databases. Candidates must have discretion to manage sensitive and confidential material.
