The Director, Marketing for Annual Giving will be responsible for the strategic oversight of all annual fund marketing initiatives, including Direct Mail, Phonathon, Annual Giving Stewardship, and Digital Giving. He or she will create a seamless giving experience by setting the strategy and direction for the marketing of Annual Giving at NYU. He or she will also be responsible for the strategy and execution of our rapidly growing student giving efforts, as well as annual fund stewardship at all levels.
5-7 years' experience in marketing, direct marketing, digital communications, student affairs, alumni relations, or equivalent combination. Supervisory experience. Experience in higher education, non-profit, or development environment.
Experience with volunteer management and students.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of communication and marketing best practices and evolving trends. Excellent communication, strategic planning, interpersonal, presentation, and analytic skills. Very proficient in data analytics and data-driven performance metrics, specifically those pertaining to higher education fundraising and marketing. Highly organized and creative; ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced, team-based environment. Ability to interact with a diverse population, including students, alumni, and university leadership. Familiarity with MS Office, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. Experience managing and leading a team toward individual and overall team goals.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Familiarity with fundraising software such as Advance, project management software, and Adobe Creative Suite.
