  • Position Summary

    Provide production and distribution support for NYU Dentistry's flagship publication, Global Health Nexus, and its online-only, public access magazine, Journal of the Academy of Distinguished Educators (JADE) ; write articles for Nexus; handle all of the operational aspects of the Office of Communications and Public Affairs, including preparing and overseeing past expense trends' analysis; authorizing allocation of funds; and reviewing
    and approving expenditures against budget; maintaining and updating mailing list databases; assist with production of promotional materials directed internally to the College community and externally to local, national, and international audiences, including student and patient recruitment materials, e-newsletters, publications, alumni communications, social media posting, digital signage announcements, mass emails, web content, and videos. Manage photo archive, maintain online events calendar, aggregate content, and work collaboratively with all members of the Communications & Public Affairs team to develop and implement communications and public affairs strategies consonant with institutional goals.

    Qualifications

    Required Education:
    Bachelors degree

    Preferred Education:
    Masters degree in marketing, communications or journalism.

    Required Experience:
    5 years professional experience in writing, communicating with the media and the public, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Preferred Experience:
    Experience writing for and marketing an academic or healthcare institution and producing major publications.

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Outstanding written, verbal, editing, networking, problem-solving and platform skills. Ability to manage several projects/initiatives simultaneously.

    Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Track record managing publications, expanding media coverage, developing and implementing communications and public affairs initiates at a global level.
