  • Position Summary

    This fixed-term (36 months) grant funded position will serve as the project lead for the Network for Improvement and Innovation in College Health. This position will manage a portfolio of national initiatives focused on achieving transformative change on college campuses in support of the audacious goal of all college students reaching their fullest potential by ensuring they have the best health possible. This position will oversee the core functions of national learning collaboratives and networks focused on accelerating breakthrough improvement of population health and clinical care outcomes across participating college campuses and organizations. Key responsibilities include project management and operations, harvesting and synthesizing key learnings, community building, organizing in-person and virtual convenings, facilitating coaching and peer-support, resource development, and knowledge management. This position will also serve as the primary communications lead and will produce diverse communication products such as reports, newsletters, toolkits, blog postings, white papers, and social media.

    Required Education:
    Bachelor’s degree

    Master's degree

    Required Experience:
    Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in: • managing complex large-scale projects or programs • building shared vision, facilitating productive dialogue, and mobilizing/supporting coordinated action in complex, interorganizational settings among groups with differing interests • developing communications strategy and producing communications messages and products across multimedia platforms • organizing in-person and virtual convenings • harvesting and disseminating key learnings and insights from demonstration projects

    Preferred Experience:
    Experience with learning collaboratives; network or coalition building; health, healthcare, social sector, and/or higher education transformation; grant writing.

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    • Demonstrated abilities to build relationships and partnerships with people on all levels, relate to very diverse actors in a supportive manner, carry messages across different audiences, and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives. Ability to foster and maintain an environment based on teamwork, commitment, accountability, cooperation, collaboration and direct, timely feedback. Strong listening skills. • Exceptional writing and copy-editing skills, with the proven the ability to convey messages via multiple communication vehicles/platforms. Experience using social media for professional communications and engagement. Adept at learning new software and adventuresome with emerging engagement technologies and tools. • Ability to work independently, manage self towards goals, and adjust to multiple and competing demands. Strong problem solving, organizational, multitasking, and project management skills. Able to see, and pivot between, multiple paths to the same goal. Ability to manage interorganization teams while dealing with high pressure deliverables, deadlines, and logistically complex processes and projects. Demonstrated ability to work on fast-paced, time-sensitive matters with internal and external constituents. • Creative thinking and intellectual curiosity. Strong critical thinking abilities. Abilities to translate knowledge and theory to practice. Resourcefulness, thoroughness, and the ability to deliver under pressure with varying degrees of oversight. Ability to take initiative; self-motivated; creative problem-solver. High tolerance for ambiguity and moving projects forward in a shifting, often uncertain environment. Adapts approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations. Flexible in change environments and able to adapt to emerging strategies with little discomfort.

    Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Aptitude with technologies that facilitate information sharing, network building, and innovation. Knowledge and skills in the use of quality improvement methods (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Model for Improvement), innovation methods, and data analytics. Ability to think at a systems level. Video editing / graphic design skills.
