  • Position Summary

    The Senior Grants Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of sponsored research administration (pre-award, postaward, award management, and award closeout functions) from federal, state and municipal agencies and grantmaking foundations. The individual will work closely with CUSP faculty; researchers at CUSP's academic, corporate and national lab partners; and NYU's Office of Sponsored Programs to identify funding opportunities, develop proposals, coordinate budgets, prepare reports, ensure regulatory compliance, and work with the appropriate departments to manage these pre- and post-award activities. On a daily basis, the Senior Grants Specialist will work closely and cooperatively with CUSP administration to ensure compliance with NYU's and granting agencies' financial policies and procedures. Incumbent will also perform duties as assigned to support the cultivation of external support and advance CUSP's mission.

    Qualifications

    Required Education:
    Bachelor's degree

    Required Experience:
    4 years' relevant experience in developing sponsored research proposal proposals, including budget development, writing, and submission management (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Experience with federal and non-federal sponsored research guidelines, policies, practices, funding sources, websites and organizations is essential.

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Excellent writing, public speaking, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Diligent attention to detail, ability to adhere to deadlines by prioritizing resource and workload as necessary. Strong analytical capabilities. Experience with databases and online grant management tools; strong working knowledge of core MS Office programs.
