  • Position Summary

    The Administrator works under the supervision of the Director of the General Studies and Spring Admissions programs, providing academic advisement and support to enrolled students. The Administrator assists with the planning, coordination, and implementation of student development programs and activities, and will take the lead on conceptualizing and managing the students’ gap semester opportunities. The Administrator will also assist with the hiring, training, and supervision of hourly student staff (office assistants and graduate assistants). Sustained communication with internal and external constituencies will also be a part of the Administrator’s assigned duties.

    Qualifications

    Required Education:
    B.A./B.S. in Counseling, Student Personnel Development, Education or a related field.

    Preferred Education:
    Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Psychology, or Social Work

    Required Experience:
    2-4 years in an educational setting.

    Preferred Experience:
    Administrator in a higher education setting. Experience with academic support programs is preferred.

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

    Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Knowledge of Student Development theories is a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Access and PeopleSoft is a plus. Strong communication, interpersonal and team building skills are required. Ability to work collegially with various constituencies at the Institute is essential. Must be skilled at problem solving as well as detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy in tasks requiring concentration.
