The Program Director, Early Childhood & K-12 Education reports to the Executive Director of Work Life in the Work Life office. The Program Director provides expertise, strategic planning, consultation and program management in the field of early childhood education, child care, K-1 schooling. The Program Director will be familiar with early childhood education/child care/ K-1 programs in close proximity to the NYU downtown campus and the greater New York area and provide expertise in identifying the unmet needs of NYU parents and their children for future program development. The position provides relationship building with local resources, advocacy for NYU parents for admission to childcare and school programs, assists with after school and vacation program research and provides workshops and education on related topics.
Master's degree in early childhood education, K-12 education, Higher Education or other relevant professional degrees such as social work, counseling.
5-7 years experience working in early childhood education/ child care and/or K-3 schooling, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to set goals and design and implement strategies for achieving them. Ability to work and communicate with diverse stakeholders. Strong teamwork abilities. Knowledge of standard office software.
