The Director of Admissions and Financial Aid will partner with the Dean and Associate Dean of Student Affairs in developing and implementing an admissions and financial aid program at NYU Wagner that is built upon a data-driven approach to strategic decision-making and goal setting, and a culture of continuous evaluation and improvement. This position will be responsible for: a) overseeing and directing all admissions functions to provide a high-level of customer service and enroll exceptional students; b) providing strategic leadership around the management, collection, and analysis of school-wide admissions and financial aid data to inform decision-making; c) managing and awarding a multi-million dollar financial aid portfolio; d) providing reports and making strategic recommendations to the Dean and Associate Dean as necessary; e) collaborating with administrative and faculty leadership on new and continuing initiatives; f) working with central University units to share information and ensure best practices; and g) representing NYU Wagner to the University and other institutions regarding admissions and financial aid.
Master's degree in Higher Education, Public Administration, Public Policy, Urban Planning or related field is preferred.
Minimum of 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in managing graduate or professional school admissions/enrollment programs or similar operational/recruitment activities is required. A history of building institutional and/or organizational relationships and experience shaping financial aid strategy is required.
Broad experience in government or nonprofit is preferred.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, written and oral communication skills are required. Must be able to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders and have an entrepreneurial spirit evidenced by creativity in strategy development, and comfort with ambiguity as new initiatives and approaches emerge. Ability to collect and analyze data to inform decision-making, and clearly communicate recommendations and strategies.
