  • Position Summary

    NYU's Stern School of Business has a challenging opportunity available for a creative Educational Technologist with experience in media production and/or graphic design. A key member of the Learning Science group at the W. R. Berkley Innovation Labs, the Educational Technologist designs effective learning experiences. With a focus on student-centered learning, the Educational Technologist works with Stern’s world-class faculty members to develop the most innovative online and face-to-face courses. The Educational Technologist applies emerging technologies and methods to continually enhance the quality of business school education for Stern’s students.


    The selected candidate will consult with faculty to design, develop, and implement technology-enhanced teaching and learning initiatives, evaluate current technology used by faculty, and provide pedagogical and technical support in curricular design and development. The selected candidate will create and deliver training programs; advise and educate faculty, staff and students about the availability of technological resources within the NYU community and the educational technology industry; identify and test new tools for teaching, learning and research; and attend conferences, enroll in classes, and read trade and professional publications to ensure on-going professional development.

    Qualifications

    The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree along with 3 years' relevant experience or equivalent combination designing and implementing interactive experiences for onsite, blended and online learning environments. Experience applying instructional design principles and pedagogical best practices for increasing learner motivation and active learning is required. Demonstrated ability in web development (coding HTML and CSS) is preferred.   Demonstrated knowledge of the MS Office suite, Google G-suite and Adobe CC media production software application suite, as well as learning management systems, is required. The ability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff is a must. Experience in visual or graphic design and web design is required. The ability to analyze learning analytics and measure learning outcomes is preferred.


    Bachelor's degree in media production, interactive media and technology, learning sciences and design, or a related field is preferred, and a Master's degree is a plus. Demonstrated knowledge of integrating technology into teaching and learning initiatives, and experience implementing educational technology solutions at the college or university level is preferred. Experience teaching informally or formally within higher education and experience with eLearning authoring tools, social and collaborative tools, web development, and/or digital video production is also preferred. The selected candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to work in a team-based atmosphere with high standards for quality and creativity. Experience with disciplinary trends such as usability, accessibility design, and/or app development for learning is a plus.
