  • Position Summary

    The AI Now Institute at New York University is an interdisciplinary research center dedicated to understanding the social implications of artificial intelligence. We focus on producing fundamental research and expanding the emerging field focused on these issues. Currently, our research focuses on four key domains: rights and liberties, labor and automation, bias and inclusion, and safety and critical infrastructure.

     

    AI Now is seeking a Program Associate to join our team at a critical inflection point in its development.  We are looking for someone who is highly driven with a desire to learn and grow in a start-up like environment. Reporting directly to the leadership team, this job is designed to be a hands-on development opportunity for learning how to build a high-performance high-impact organization. We are looking for candidates who are organized, action-oriented, systematic, and adaptable.

     

     

    The Program Associate will work directly with the leadership team to contribute to the strategic growth and development of AI Now. This scope of this role includes:

    • Tactical support for organizational development.  
    • Project management for the institute’s leadership team and research team.

    Qualifications

    Required Education:
    Bachelors Degree

    Required Experience:
    At least 2 years experience in a professional setting

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

    • Comfortable using Google Drive and Google Apps
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and are familiar with Keynote
    • Detail oriented
    • Excellent research, proofreading, and editing skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


    Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

    • Strong organizational skills and multitasking skills with a keen attention to detail
    • Ability to meet deadlines and work calmly in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to work collaboratively with others but retain substantial independence and keen judgment
    • Project management skills and a Strategic thinker
