  • Position Summary

    The Associate Director, Leadership and Outreach will oversee inclusive leadership programming and aspects of the day to day operations of the center; supervise full-time administrators and student staff; develop, implement, and assess inclusion, diversity, equity, and belonging initiatives for students, staff and faculty. Initiatives will effectively address a broad range of social identities and perspectives including race, socio-economic status, sex, gender identity and expression, ethnicity, religious/spiritual affiliations, physical abilities, sexual orientation, citizenship status, and national origin. Work closely with the Associate Director, Diversity Education and Training at CMEP and the Associate Director, Inclusive Innovation and Entrepreneurship within the Office for Global Inclusion, Diversity and Strategic Innovation to develop and implement strategies for engaging students in leadership development opportunities. Provide oversight of the planning, implementation and evaluation of large scale university wide programs including Ally Week; participate and lead initiatives on the MLK Week committee. Consult, collaborate and build partnerships with Student Affairs units and other campus partners. Develop partnerships, support, and advise student groups and organizations. Conduct assessment and evaluation of programs and initiatives. Oversee center’s communication strategy including oversight of newsletters, social media platforms, and all other forms of outreach.

    Qualifications

    Required Education:
    Master’s Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Education, Social Sciences, Counseling or related field.

    Required Experience:
    5+ years of relevant experience working with students with diverse identities, international students, faculty, and administrators creating educational programs for students and professionals or equivalent combination. Event planning and advising. Experience supervising professional staff or managing work teams.

    Preferred Experience:
    Knowledge of trends and best practices in inclusion, diversity, belonging, and equity. Familiarity with a higher education setting. Supervisory experience. Technical ability (software suites).

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Ability to hire, supervise, and lead staff. Knowledge of inclusion, diversity, belonging, and equity models, concepts and frameworks. Proficiency with office software and knowledge of various communication platforms. Experience implements large scale events and providing guidance to staff. Strong presentation skills.
