General Office Administration
Analyze and certify degree audit requirements using guidelines specific to school and degree audit; process internal (NYU) and external (non-NYU) transfer credit requests using guidelines specific to school. Identify problems and contact appropriate department for resolutions. Maintain manual and computerized academic records and files of current students. Perform clerical, secretarial, and general office duties for the department. Respond to inquiries regarding degree audit programs.
Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education: Associate's degree
Required Experience: 2 years of office experience (with High School diploma).1 year of office experience (with Associate's degree).
Preferred Experience: 2 years of office experience (with Associate's degree).
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Familiarity with intermediate level word processing and web based applications. Accurate keyboarding. Ability to operate basic office equipment (e.g., personal computer, photocopy/fax machine). After appropriate training, must be able to use the PeopleSoft student information system. Good problem solving, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively in writing via e-mail or memo to University officials and to students. Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Strong analytical skills. Proficiency with intermediate Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
