  • Position Summary

    This role will focus on the hiring of Faculty for NYU Abu Dhabi across all disciplines. NYU Abu Dhabi is in its eighth year. The strategy is to grow the faculty over time and the faculty recruitment specialist plays a critical role in the process. As Abu Dhabi enters the second phase of its development, we expect the faculty to double in 10 years. In addition to this extensive growth, Abu Dhabi seeks to build a very diverse, multi facet faculty. This role will collaborate with the Manager of Faculty Recruitment and P&T in all aspects of the recruitment process by providing high level recruitment support to the search committees and acting as the initial point of contact to all faculty candidates. The Recruitment Specialist will manage all processes related to the Applicant Tracking Systems and other Human Resource Information Systems. Work directly with and provide expertise to assigned departments and administrative offices at the portal campuses on all employment and recruitment-related matters: advise on recruitment issues and strategies to align campus hiring goals with NYUNY process, ways to effectively utilize Applicant Tracking System, cost effective advertisement approaches, and interpretation of human resources and University policies and procedures, legal requirements and best employment practices. Manage the NYUAD open faculty position webpage. Embody strategies for successful approaches with account management and troubleshoot any issues that arise. Prepare recruitment related metrics, including monthly, annual and ad hoc reports. Coordinate with recruitment vendors (i.e. advertisers, external job boards, background check vendor and temporary agencies). Plays an ambassador role to our visiting constituents, is the initial face of NYU Abu Dhabi for faculty candidates, which impacts candidates’ desire to join the university. At this stage of the AD faculty development, this team will play a key role in administration of the promotion and tenure process, which was not in place during the early years of the project. This is a critical activity and important to the faculty performance, evaluation and growth. This team will develop and deliver guidelines to support this important process, track timelines, and implement University goals. This role may travel to Abu Dhabi on occasion to work with the faculty affairs team on matters relative to the recruitment process.

    3+ years of experience working in a recruitment function or an academic setting acquired. Basic knowledge of office administration

    Computer/technology proficiency including Microsoft Office applications, applicant tracking tools, HRIS, internet, other research tools, etc. Proven results in managing high-quality, high-volume work in start-up environment, preferably from higher education or related sector. Demonstrated success in working in evolving, fast-paced, and ambiguous environments, strategy planning, project management and problem-solving skills. Customer focused and process oriented. Superior interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to work independently as well as member of the team, with a sense of urgency.
