Manage the activities of centralized payroll department including all phases of the monthly, semimonthly employee, semimonthly student, biweekly and weekly payrolls. Responsible for payroll preparation, gross to net processing, post payroll liability processing such as garnishment, benefit, tax transmissions/remittance and related tasks. Responsible for accurate year-end forms W-2 data. Manage Payroll staff and coach direct reports. Maintain electronic imaging records and filing. Triage system issues, recommend enhancements. Responsible for payroll accuracy, timeliness and compliance. Stay up to date with all tax agency and labor requirements. Ensure payroll controls are in place that mitigate error and non-compliance, and are properly aligned with processes and procedures. Ensure that the payroll runbook and payroll related spreadsheets are up to date. This position is also responsible for the primary interaction between Payroll and the Time and Attendance function utilizing MyTime (Workforce EmpCenter). Troubleshoot T&A issues, recommend enhancements, resolve time and attendance issues.
Finance/Accounting degree, Payroll Professional Certification (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC).
5 years' relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience administering payroll with an understanding of HRIS operations as they relate to payroll. Must have an understanding of Time and Labor as well as income tax withholding and filing requirements. Must be able to manage a large staff and have proven leadership skills.
Workday and Workforce Empcenter processing experience.

Excellent analytical, problem solving, and written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of a variety of software applications and interfaces including familiarity with various databases. Ability to analyze, develop and maintain computer and data communication systems.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of income tax agencies and best practices as they relate to payroll processing.
