Strategic leader for the NYU School of Professional Studies (SPS) in partnership with the Deans and Divisional Deans. Partners closely with Dean and Divisional Deans to build clear communications and collaborative approach to fundraising, and to build and sustain a $10 million fundraising program over a 3 - 5 year period. Develop and manage prospects rated $100K and higher who are aligned with School priorities. Place emphasis on the Dean’s activities to cultivate and fundraise $1M+ gifts from major and principal gift donors in support of the school’s work, capital needs, scholarships and university fundraising campaign. Support the Dean’s and Divisional Dean’s portfolio of prospects and donors through strategy and documented moves. Work closely with the Dean/Divisional Deans to effectively utilize a variety of industry-specific councils in SPS as a strategic engagement and retention tool for prospects and donors. Carry a portfolio of 100 to 120 active prospects for the school and collaborate University-wide based on donor’s interests, as appropriate. Participate in leadership discussions for the school and university development and alumni relations. Liaise with university development teams supporting the school’s efforts including global, corporate and foundation fundraising, principal gifts, annual fund, and planned giving. Work closely with divisional deans and other senior faculty in order to develop and/or support the articulation of clear funding priorities. Incrementally increase fundraising outcomes from $3-5M to 10M+ sustained annually over the next three to five years measured by agreed upon metrics. Provide co-management for one administrative aid and direct supervision of one development professional.
5 years' related experience or equivalent combination. Must include experience in development, personal record of major gift fundraising, and staff supervision.
Experience in an academic and/or professional school environment
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to take initiative, build a team atmosphere and interact with a diverse population. Ability to strategize and meet fundraising goals. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and desktop publishing software.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of MS Office.
