NYU's Gallatin School of Individualized Study is looking for an Administrative Aide I to support our Office of Faculty Services.
Perform a broad range of clerical, secretarial, and general office duties including those of a confidential nature. Respond to inquiries displaying a comprehensive knowledge of the departmental offerings and academic policies. Assist with the prioritization of office activities and delegate to and monitor work of student and/or casual employees. Compose letters and correspondence. Perform general word processing, spreadsheet and data entry duties utilizing intermediate-level functions. Monitor moderately complex budgets.
The work schedule for this position is as follows:
Fall/Spring semesters: Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM / Friday, 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM.
Summer semester: Monday through Thurday, 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM / Friday, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM.
High School diploma and up to 1 year of specialized training or equivalent or Associates degree
2 years' office experience (wth High School diploma) 1 year of office experience (with Associates degree) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2 years' office experience (with Associates degree) in a higher education environment.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proficiency with intermediate-level word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Moderate, accurate keyboarding (40-50 words per minute).
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proficiency with intermediate-level Microsoft Office. Good writing and proofreading skills.
