  • Position Summary

    Serve as the Chief Clinical Technology Officer of the NYU College of Dentistry reporting to the College’s Chief Information Officer. Provide strategic leadership and operational management of Technology services, exercising delegated authority for policy and programmatic decisions. Of particular focus for this position is our clinical systems and technology environment, which supports the patient care and clinical education functions of the largest dental school in the United States. The CCTO will work to meet the increasing expectations of healthcare and academe even as it is imperative to operate an effective and efficient technology environment. Collaborate with the CIO, senior management, clinical administration, department chairs, and others in order to develop, communicate, and manage a central technology plan for computing and information technology that is consistent with the College’s overall mission. Collaborate with other groups within TIS for the successful overall operation of the department.


    Required Education:
    Bachelor's degree

    Preferred Education:
    Master’s Degree in Computer Science. Relevant industry certifications, i.e. Cybersecurity, data science, etc.

    Required Experience:
    10+ years of increasingly experience managing clinical information technology. Must have substantial managerial experience in formulating, planning, leading, directing, and controlling a complex, broad, and highly technical healthcare or related function.

    Preferred Experience:
    7+ years of experience in healthcare IT management or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to interact with both technical and non-technical staff. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and deliver operational results. Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff. Wide range of in-depth technical understanding across IT disciplines. Demonstrated ability to understand the structure, operations, strategic objectives, regulatory issues and cultural environment of academic medical centers. In addition, must be able to implement strategic objectives within this environment.

    Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Knowledge of current and emerging healthcare and information technologies and systems.
