Provide a broad range of generalist services to support the Tandon School of Engineering. This position is responsible for the delivery of a broad range of HR support and performs a variety of human resources functions. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in cross-functional, HR projects, and new initiatives. This position will serve as the business partner for all hourly student employment while advising staff on HR related issues including employee relations. Identifies trends and initiates changes/improvements necessary to achieve goals and objectives while ensuring employee’s needs are met without interruption to service levels. Formulate and coordinate initiatives for staff development program; assess departmental training needs and employees' skills and make recommendations including managing the Human Resources budget and reconciliation . This position will manage the employment verification process. Plan, schedule, and conduct workshops, Tandon Administrative Support Network and training sessions including developing training materials. This position will also serve as the school Internship and Volunteer Coordinator.
Bachelor’s Degree or related field
at least 7 years Human Resources experience
Experience in Payroll preferred.

Ability to deal effectively with difficult or irate customers. • Ability to juggle many tasks and manage more than one work priorities effectively. • Knowledge and ability to recognize which tasks to be addressed by him/herself and which to escalate to other HR team members. • Knowledge of all functional areas of HR particularly employee relations, performance management, recruiting, compensation, training and employment laws. • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a quick moving and change oriented environment. • Ability to manage complex and ambiguous situations and independently drive to solutions. • Ability to analyze, diagnose and solve moderate to highly complex problems. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing, include strong presentation skills and customer service orientation. • Must possess exceptional customer service, critical thinking, and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to work independently with little supervision. • Ability to produce desired quality, productivity and reasonability work. • Ability to communicate effectively with Faculty, Staff, Students and public, verbally or in writing. • Detail oriented and dependable.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
• Familiarity with PeopleSync and ICIMS a plus, ability to multitask in a busy environment
