  • Position Summary

    Serve as the School's chief officer for student affairs including oversight of student advisement, career development, counseling and wellness, registration, disciplinary hearings and grade appeals, special events, orientations, and graduation ceremonies, student clubs and student government. Develop and manage school-wide student affairs policies and procedures, and communications related to student affairs. Develop and administer a comprehensive program of academic, career, and student support services, activities and events committed to student growth and development. Direct the Steinhardt Honors programs, New Student Seminars, and student awards. Maintains close partnerships with key University Offices including the Health Center, Financial Aid, Career Services, Admissions, Housing and Student Life. Ensure best practices and alignment of programs to the diversity of student needs.

    Qualifications

    Required Education:
    Master’s Degree in the related field

    Preferred Education:
    Doctorate Degree or terminal degree.

    Required Experience:
    Minimum of 10 years' progressively responsible senior administrative level experience. Must include experience in student advisement and counseling, Higher Education administration, budget development and oversight, policy development, and staff supervision in student affairs or related area.

    Preferred Experience:
    Experience managing student recruitment in a large, diverse environment.

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Excellent problem solving, leadership, networking, and presentation skills. Interpersonal skills and the ability to manage a large team within a complex organization. Ability to prioritize multiple time sensitive projects and develop and manager relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

    Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    The ideal candidate will have the ability to problem solve complex matters and view issues on both a micro and macro level.
