  • Position Summary

    The Associate, Technology Leadership Program will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills and hands-on experience directly aligned to NYU Information Technology’s (NYU IT) strategic initiatives and core services in support of the university’s daily operations and visionary goals. The Technology Leadership Program (TLP) will cover a 24 month period, during which participants will have two 12 month rotations, based on individual interests and determined by divisional needs. The following rotational assignments will be available: IAM Developer Security Operations Analyst Product User Experience/Quality Assurance Specialist Cloud Systems Administrator Digitalization Business Analyst Duties may include the following: test and develop business and academic applications, analyze and make recommendations for change to business process, fine tune cloud and other system configurations, monitor system performance, analyze threat activities and respond to security incidents.

     

    The following rotational assignments will be available:

     

    IAM Developer

    Security Operations Analyst

    Product User Experience/Quality Assurance Specialist

    Cloud Systems Administrator

    Digitalization Business Analyst

    Qualifications

    Required Education:
    Bachelor’s Degree (earned by June of the program application year)

    Preferred Education:
    Major in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or Business with a technical concentration or minor

    Required Experience:
    N/A

    Preferred Experience:
    Internship or co-op experience in an IT related function

    Digitalization Business Analyst

     

    40% Deliver practical and economical recommendations to new or changing business needs and recommend refinement and / or modification of business processes. Participate in assigned projects: perform cost benefit analysis, identify and evaluate the ROI, associated with digitalization IT services. document NYU IT’s ranked list of services to digitize, work on developing the requirements for a given digitization project, develop a scorecard that informs the digital maturity level for a service, document the as is and future process diagrams for a given digitization project, and ideate/inform digitalization.

    30% Partner with leadership by developing data-based insights that inform strategies to achieve business objectives. Conduct literature reviews to inform data collection instrument design. Manage the gathering of qualitative and quantitative data through surveys, interviews, operational workshops, focus groups, etc. Provide practical and economical recommendations to new or changing business needs and recommend refinement and / or modification of business processes.  Work with students, faculty, and staff to observe and understand how they use IT services.

    30% Develop presentation materials to summarize the above elements.  Draft communications and prepare informational material, as needed. Collaborate with the Communications team to design and develop materials: reports, SOP manuals and presentations. Develop content as it relates to new organizational procedures. Day-to-day management and maintenance of organizational marketing and operational material. Create and manage a variety of analytical reports for AVP use; prepare summaries and recommendations based on data analysis. Develop and present progress and organizational performance reports. Create/manage processes for storing and managing departmental documentation and material in an organized and user-friendly manner. Collaborate with the Communications team and internal stakeholders to develop communication plans and forecasting for longer-term planning of departmental objectives and programs.
