Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or similar major
Master Degree highly preferred
At least 15 years of progressively responsible professional level experience in an information technology environment and/or in a client-centered service organization with heavy emphasis on large-scale, shared, and high performance computing systems. 3 – 5 years in IT Service Management, change management, program management or similar discipline.
Experience in higher education, academic and shared computing services.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
• At least 7 years of demonstrated leadership skills in the area of IT operations in the data management space in a global company • Experience in leading technical boards covering demand, capacity, incident, problem, change, and release management • Solid hands-on experience in development and implementation of standards, policies, processes and procedures relating to IT operations in enterprise data management • Experience in designing, building and supporting data management systems • Experience in implementing DevOps, monitoring, and automation preferred • Knowledge of organizational Information Architecture and Information Management (IM) Methodology and Standards • Experience in working closely with database administrators to ensure databases are maintained and fine-tuned • Deep understanding of ITIL v3 frameworks, tools, and techniques • ITIL v3 certification required • Deep understanding of information security • CISSP certification is a plus • Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to reach senior business management as well as technical audiences • Strong problem-solving and organizational ability • Project management skills. Ability to deliver projects of great complexity, on time and within budget. • Project management certification from a reputable educational institution is required. • Act as a liaison to service desk staff and development staff and handle high-level escalation of technical and management issues. • The preferred candidate will have a broad background in application development, information security, enterprise data solutions and architecture • Ability to work independently to solve complex problems, and be technical yet possess the soft skills work with a variety of partners.
